Welcome to Łódź!
Formerly the industrial capital of the country, today it’s a dynamic hub of creativity, art, and new technologies.
Łódź is a place where historic factories are transformed into modern cultural spaces, and the industrial atmosphere blends with youthful, student energy.
The city is famous for its film heritage, murals, festivals, and unique vibe. You’ll find both a lively city center and numerous parks perfect for relaxing between classes. Łódź is also very well connected — located in the heart of the country, it makes it easy to reach any corner of Poland.

What UniLodz offers

Starting university life is quite an adventure. New places, new culture, new opportunities. It can feel overwhelming at first, but you don’t have to go through it alone.
That’s why the University of Lodz created the UL Mentor initiative: a friendly support system designed to make your first weeks at the University of Lodz smoother, easier and more enjoyable.
Who are UL Mentors
UL Mentors are experienced students from higher years who volunteer their time to welcome newcomers at the end of September and beginning of October. They’ve been in your shoes, and now they’re here to guide you.
How can they help you

- Navigate your class schedule with confidence
- Find your way around the campus like a pro
- Discover the best spots in Łódź (from cafés to cultural gems)
Why it matters
UL Mentors aren’t just a guide: they’re a friendly face, a helping hand, and maybe even the first friends you’ll make here.
And the best part? Next year, you could become a UL Mentor yourself, sharing your own experiences and helping new students feel at home.
Where can you find UL Mentors
You’ll meet them at Welcome Point, one of your very first stops at the University of Lodz!
Location: Main Library of UL, Jana Matejki 32

Welcome Point isn’t just an information point. It’s a cozy space designed especially for new students. Here you can:
- Relax and connect in our integration area with board games
- Use the space to meet other students
And the support doesn’t end there! At Welcome Point, you can also scan the QR code to our WhatsApp group, where UL Mentors and fellow new students are always active. Whether you have a quick question about classes, campus life, or the city of Łódź, you’ll get a friendly reply.
Welcome Point schedule
The schedule of Welcome Point’s opening days and hours will be updated in September, so stayed tuned!
