Summer Semester Settlement

The summer semester 2025/2026 - settlement of students' achievements

The deadline to complete all courses of the summer semester 2025/2026 is 30.09.2026

Summer semester examination session takes place from 15.06.2026 to 05.07.2026.
Make-up summer examination session takes place from 12.09.2026 till 27.09.2026.

Students who have passed all courses and examinations from the summer semester of the academic year 2025/2026 (grades are already in the USOS system) are requested to notify the relevant office (A210 or A211) by email or in person.

Only if all courses are notified as having been passed will the student settle the summer semester and be promoted to the next semester.

The standard credit-earning period for courses in the summer semester will not be subject to extension.

Information #2
Please be informed that grades just entered by the teacher into USOSweb are migrated to the USOS database during the next migration. Migration is initiated at 06:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 9:00 PM, and lasts approximately 30-50 minutes. During this time, the service is closed.

In order to settle the semester, grades must be in the USOS database; only then can the Student Office settle your account. In short: Grades from USOSweb may not be visible in the USOS database.

Information #3.
After the start of the winter semester 2026/2027, the validity of the student ID card must be extended. The student will be informed by e-mail about the possibility of extending the validity of the student ID card for the following semester.

What can a student do if there are no grades in USOS and/or some courses are not passed?

(1) Missing grades in USOS

The student should contact the teacher and ask for the grade to be uploaded to USOS.

Note: All grades must be uploaded to USOS, even failing grades.

(2) Conditional Promotion - at most 2 courses are failed counting from the beginning of studies

If at most 2 courses are failed counting from the beginning of studies (the grades are already in USOS, all grades must be uploaded to USOS, even failing grades), a student can apply for conditional promotion to the next semester.

Conditional promotion to the next semester means that the student must study and pass the courses of the next semester and repeat all the courses not passed in the relevant semester.

Student has to repeat failed courses from the summer semester in the summer semester of the NEXT ACADEMIC YEAR (THE NEXT SUMMER SEMESTER).
Student has to repeat failed courses from the winter semester in the winter semester of the NEXT ACADEMIC YEAR (THE NEXT WINTER SEMESTER).

Important Information for Conditionally Promoted Students. Students who received a conditional promotion to the summer semester and pass all course from the summer semester must also submit a formal request to the Student Office for conditional promotion to the subsequent winter semester.

Student cannot repeat the course twice.

Request letter submission

If a student wishes to apply for a conditional promotion, they are required to submit a formal request to the Student Office. The request must be completed using template .docx file , on which the student must list all failed courses from the beginning of their studies.

DEADLINE FOR REQUEST LETTER SUBMISSION: 7 days after the end of exam session.

After consenting to the student's request

If the Dean gives permission for conditional promotion to the next semester, the student is obliged to:

  • pay for each repeated course (before the beginning of semester),
  • enrol on the course no later than the first week of the semester, by submitting appropriate request letter, (one can also send email to plan@wmii.uni.lodz.pl)
  • attend classes and earn credits.

The Bank Account for repeated courses payments

In the USOS system (STUDENT SECTION Payments) a student can find the number of the bank account for payments on behalf of the University. Each student has his/her own virtual subaccount number within the University account which makes it possible to immediately recognize who has made the payment and reckon it up.
Student may have numerous virtual accounts. Each payment should be made to appropriate account.

 

 

 

(3) Repetition of Semester - more than 2 courses are failed counting from the beginning of studies

If more than 2 courses are failed counting from the beginning of studies (the grades are already in USOS, all grades must be uploaded to USOS, even failing grades), student can apply for repetition of the semester.

A student who has failed more than 2 courses cannot be promoted to the next semester.

Repetition of the summer semester means that a student has to repeat failed courses from the summer semester in the summer semester of the NEXT ACADEMIC YEAR (THE NEXT SUMMER SEMESTER).
Repetition of the winter semester means that a student has to repeat failed courses from the winter semester in the winter semester of the NEXT ACADEMIC YEAR (THE NEXT WINTER SEMESTER).

Student cannot repeat the semester twice.

VERY IMPORTANT!!!  For students who have been approved to repeat a semester.

A student who applies for the semester to be repeated cannot attend classes from the next semester, and is obliged to pass all failed courses first.

Courses from a higher semester may appear in the individual USOS account automatically, but the student cannot study them without the Dean's consent.

  • If a student intends to study some/all courses from a higher semester, the student is obliged to submit request letter for taking courses in advance
  • If a student does not intend to study courses from a higher semester, student is obliged to remove courses from the individual USOS account. In that case it is enough to write email to plan@wmii.uni.lodz.pl.

Students that repeat a semester must enrol for the courses they are repeating and for all courses of their degree program. Registration for courses takes place in room A228  at the beginning of the semester.
 

 

Final-year students, find out what you can do.

Please note that the thesis defence (final exam) must take place within 30 days of the date of approval by the supervisor.

Step 1. Extension of the deadline for submitting work until 31 October.

The following request letter must be submitted in Student Office

17. Request for extension of deadline of submission bachelor’s/master’s thesis degree project

The application must be submitted by 30 September.

Step 2. Extension of the deadline for submitting work after 31 October.

If, after obtaining consent in step 1, it turns out that student need more time to submit thesis, student may apply to the Rector for an extension.

In this case, student must submit the following application to the Student Office

The application must be submitted by 31 October.
