UNIC Internships for Students – Gain International Experience

The UNIC Alliance invites students to participate in internships abroad, which can be funded through the Erasmus+ programme. This is an opportunity to acquire useful skills, learn about working conditions in post-industrial European cities, and develop professionally in an international environment – it's worth learning from others and being curious about the world to better understand it. Application deadlines vary – some are closing soon, so don't delay with your application.

Students of all study programmes can take advantage of internships offered by universities, municipalities, as well as companies and organisations operating in UNIC's partner cities. This is a unique opportunity to combine academic development with practical professional experience – both during the studies and for a year after graduation.

Why is it worth it?

  • International experience – working in one of UNIC's partner cities.
  • Flexibility – internships last from 2 to 12 months, with the possibility of combining several internships.
  • Various tasks – from practical duties to participation in research projects.
  • Financial support – possibility of obtaining Erasmus+ funding for travel and subsistence costs.
  • Development of competencies – linguistic, intercultural and professional.
  • Possibility of having your internship recognised in your study programme – after prior arrangement with the university.

Who is it for?

The programme is addressed to students who:

  • want to complete an internship abroad during their studies or up to 12 months after completion,
  • are interested in working in an international environment,
  • want to gain experience in areas related to their field of study or thesis topic.

How does it work?

  1. Find internship opportunities – current offers are available on the UNIC website.
  2. Contact your local UNIC team and submit the required documents – you can also inquire about internships tailored to your interests.
  3. Once accepted by your host institution, you can apply for Erasmus+ funding (go to the funding information page).
  4. Establish the rules for internship recognition – it's a good idea to sign a Learning Agreement before departure.
